Abu Bakr bin Abu Jahm reported,

I heard Fatimah bint Qays say, "My husband, Abu Amr bin Hafs bin Mughira bin Ayyash bin Abu Rabia, sent me word that he had divorced me, and he sent me five measures of dates and five measures of barley.I said, 'Is this all I get for maintenance? And am I not to observe my waiting period in your house?'He replied, 'No.'So I gathered my clothes around me and went to the Prophet ﷺ and told him about it.He asked, 'How many times has he divorced you?'I said, 'Three times.'He said, 'He has spoken the truth. You have no right to maintenance. Observe your waiting period at the house of your cousin Ibn Umm Maktum, for he is blind and you can take off your outer garments there. When your waiting period ends, let me know.'"She continued, "Several men proposed to me, among them Muawiya and Abu Jahm.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Muawiya is poor and of modest means, and Abu Jahm beats women,' meaning he was harsh with women, 'but you should marry Usama bin Zayd.'"Or he said, "Marry Usama bin Zayd."

عن أبي بكر بن أبي الجهم قال

سمعت فاطمة بنت قيس تقول: أرسل إلي زوجي أبو عمرو بن حفص بن المغيرة بن عياش بن أبي ربيعة بطلاقي، وأرسل إلي بخمس أصع تمر، وخمس أصع شعير. فقلت: ما لي نفقة إلا هذا؟ ولا أعتد في بيتكم؟ قال: لا. فشددت علي ثيابي، ثم أتيت النبي ﷺ فذكرت له ذلك، فقال: كم طلقك؟ قلت: ثلاثا، قال: صدق، ليس لك نفقة، واعتدي في بيت ابن عمك ابن أم مكتوم، فإنه ضرير البصر، تلقين ثيابك عنك، فإذا انقضت عدتك فآذنيني قالت: فخطبني خطاب، فيهم معاوية وأبوجهم، فقال رسول الله ﷺ: إن معاوية ترب خفيف الحال، وأبوجهم يضرب النساء- أي- فيه شدة على النساء- ولكن عليك أسامة بن زيد. أو قال: انكحي أسامة بن زيد
