A man from the Ansar, known by the nickname Abu Shuayb, came forward. He said to his servant boy, who was a butcher, and in another narration, a meat-seller, "Prepare me food enough for five, for I wish to invite the Prophet ﷺ as the fifth of five. I have recognized hunger on his face."So he invited them, and a man came along with them. The Prophet ﷺ said, "This man has followed us. If you wish to give him permission, do so, and if you wish him to return, he will return."He replied, "No, I grant him permission."
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Sales (2081) and Muslim in the Book of Drinks (2036), both from the hadith of Amash, who said, Shaqiq narrated to me, from Abu Masud Ansari, who said, then he mentioned it.
