The Prophet ﷺ freed Safiya bint Huyayy, the daughter of the chief of the tribes of Qurayza and Nadir, and married her. The next morning, as a bridegroom, he said, "Whoever has something, let him bring it."A leather mat was spread out, and one man came with dried curd, another came with dates, and another came with clarified butter. They mixed it all together into a dish called hays. This was the wedding feast of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Prayer (371), and Muslim narrated it in the Book of Marriage (1365-84), both from the hadith of Ismail bin Ulaya, who said, Abdul-Aziz bin Suhayb narrated to us from Anas, and he mentioned it within a long narration.
