Abu Hurairah reported,
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The angel of death came to Musa 
and said to him, 'Respond to your Lord.' Musa struck the eye of the angel of death and put it out.The angel returned to Allah Almighty and said, 'You sent me to a servant of Yours who does not want to die, and he has put out my eye.'So Allah restored his eye to him and said, 'Return to My servant and say, Do you want life? If you want life, then place your hand on the back of a bull, and for every hair your hand covers you will live a year.'Musa asked, 'Then what?'He answered, 'Then you will die.'Musa said, 'Then let it be now, my Lord. Bring me close to the Holy Land, within a stone's throw of it.'"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "By Allah, if I were there, I would show you his grave beside the road at the red sand dune."

أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: جاء ملك الموت إلى موسى عليه السلام، فقال: له أجب ربك. قال: فلطم موسى عليه السلام عين ملك الموت، ففقأها. قال: فرجع الملك إلى الله تعالى فقال: إنك أرسلتني إلى عبدك لا يريد الموت، وقد فقأ عيني. قال: فرد الله إليه عينه وقال: ارجع إلى عبدي فقل: الحياة تريد؟ فإن كنت تريد الحياة فضع يدك على متن ثور، فما توارت يدك من شعرة فإنك تعيش بها سنة. قال: ثم مه؟ قال: ثم تموت. قال: فالآن من قريب رب أمتني من الأرض المقدسة رمية بحجر. قال رسول الله ﷺ: والله لو أني عنده لأريتكم قبره إلى جانب الطريق عند الكثيب الأحمر.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Virtues (2373:158), from Muhammad bin Rafi, who said, Abdul-Razzaq narrated to us, who said, Mamar narrated to us, from Hammam bin Munabbih, who said, "This is what Abu Hurairah narrated to us from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ," then he related the hadith.Bukhari narrated it (1339, 3407) through Abdul-Razzaq, from Mamar, from Ibn Tawus, from his father, from Abu Hurairah, but he raised to the Prophet only the last part, which is his saying, "By Allah, if I were with him I would show you..." However, he pointed to the narration of Mamar, from Hammam, who said, "Abu Hurairah narrated to us," with something similar.Note. Some reports mention that the name of the angel of death is "Azrail." Ibn Kathir mentioned this in his tafsir of Surah Sajdah, on the authority of Tawus. However, this name does not occur in the Book of Allah, nor in the sahih sunnah of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so it may be one of the Israelite narrations.Hafiz Suyuti said in his commentary on Sunan Nasai, hadith (2088), "His name has not come in any raised hadith. It has been reported from Wahb bin Munabbi that his name is Azrail, narrated by Abu Shaykh in Azamah." See Kitab Azamah (439).
