The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A woman and her paternal aunt are not to be married to the same man at the same time, nor are a woman and her maternal aunt."
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: لا يجمع بين المرأة وعمتها، ولا بين المرأة وخالتها.
Malik narrated it in the Book of Marriage (20) from Abu Zinad, from Araj, from Abu Hurairah, and mentioned it. Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Marriage (5109), and Muslim in the Book of Marriage (33:1408), both through the route of Malik, with the same wording.Bukhari also narrated it (5110), and Muslim (35), both through the route of Zuhri, from Qabisa bin Zuayb, from Abu Hurairah, who said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'A woman shall not be married together with her paternal aunt, nor shall a woman be married together with her maternal aunt.'" The wording is Muslim's.Ibn Shihab said, "We hold that a woman's paternal aunt through her father and her maternal aunt through her father are in the same position."
