My nephew, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ never favored one of us over another in the division of his time, in how long he stayed with us. Scarcely a day passed without his visiting all of us. He would come close to each woman without intimacy until he reached the one whose day it was, and he would spend the night with her. When Sawda bint Zama grew old and feared that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would part from her, she said, "Messenger of Allah, my day is for Ayesha." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ accepted that from her.Ayesha said, "We say that it was concerning this, and cases like it, that Allah, Mighty and Majestic, revealed," and I believe she said the verse, "And if a woman fears ill treatment or neglect from her husband" [Nisa 4:128].
Abu Dawud (2135) narrated it, and from his route Bayhaqi (7/47) and Hakim (2/186), both through Ahmad bin Yunus, who said, Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Zinad narrated to us, from Hisham bin Urwa, from his father, who said, Ayesha said, and then he mentioned it.Hakim said, its chain is sahih.I say, its chain is hasan because of Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Zinad, for his hadith is hasan, and Ibn Hajar also graded it hasan in Isabah (13/506).
