The Jews used to say that if a man approached his wife from behind, in her vagina, the child would be born cross-eyed. Then this was revealed, "Your wives are a tilth for you, so approach your tilth however you wish" [Baqarah 2:223].
كانت اليهود تقول: إذا أتى الرجل امرأته من دبرها في قبلها، كان الولد أحول فنزلت: {نساؤكم حرث لكم فأتوا حرثكم أنى شئتم}.
Bukhari related it in the tafsir (4528), and Muslim in the marriage book (117:1435), both of them through Sufyan (that is, Thawri), from Ibn Munkadir, who heard Jabir say (he then mentioned it).
