Abdullah bin Umar reported,
We used to refrain from speaking freely or being too relaxed with our wives during the time of the Prophet ﷺ, fearing that something might be revealed concerning us. But when the Prophet ﷺ passed away, we began to speak freely and relax with them.

Sahihعن عبد الله بن عمر قال
كنا نتقي الكلام والانبساط إلى نسائنا على عهد النبي ﷺ هيبة أن ينزل فينا شيء، فلما توفي النبي ﷺ تكلمنا وانبسطنا.
Bukhari related it in the Book of Marriage (5187), from Abu Naeem, who said, Sufyan narrated to us, from Abdullah bin Dinar, from Ibn Umar 
, and he mentioned it.As for his statement, "When he passed away... etc.," Ibn Hajar said, this suggests that what they used to refrain from was something permissible under the principle of original permissibility, but they feared that a prohibition or restriction might be revealed concerning it. After the death of the Prophet ﷺ, they felt secure, so they did it, holding fast to the principle of original permissibility.
