The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There are three whose prayer does not rise even a handspan above their heads. A man who leads people in prayer while they dislike him, a woman who spends the night with her husband angry at her, and two brothers who have cut ties with one another."
عن رسول الله ﷺ قال: ثلاثة لا ترفع صلاتهم فوق رؤوسهم شبرا: رجل أم قوما وهم له كارهون، وامرأة باتت وزوجها عليها ساخط، وأخوان متصارمان.
Ibn Majah (971) reported it, he said, Muhammad bin Umar bin Hayaj told us, he said, Yahya bin Abdul-Rahman Arhabi told us, he said, Ubayda bin Aswad told us, from Qasim bin Walid, from Minhal bin Amr, from Saeed bin Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas, and he mentioned the hadith. Its chain of transmission is hasan, for Ubayda bin Aswad, who is Ibn Saeed Hamdani, was described by Abu Hatim, who said of him, "There is no harm in his hadith."There are other hadiths on this same subject in the Book of Prayer, in the chapter on one who leads a group in prayer while they dislike him.
