The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If I were to command anyone to prostrate to another, I would have commanded the wife to prostrate to her husband."
قال رسول الله ﷺ لو كنت آمرا أحدا أن يسجد لأحد لأمرت المرأة أن تسجد لزوجها.
Tabarani related it in Al-Kabir (7/152), and Ibn Abu Dunya in Al-Iyal (537, Ibn Abu Dunya Encyclopedia), both from the hadith of Wahb bin Jareer bin Hazim, who said, "Musa bin Ali narrated to us, from his father, from Suraqa bin Malik," and he related it. Its chain is sahih. Musa bin Ali bin Rabah Lakhmi and his father are both reliable narrators, and Muslim and the authors of the Sunan collections related from both of them. The text was corrupted in Majma al-Zawaid (4/310), where it became "Wahb bin Ali, from his father." Haythami then said, "I do not know either of them, but the rest of its men are reliable narrators."I say, perhaps this is how it appeared in the copy of Tabarani's work that Haythami had, which is why he said, "I do not know either of them." As for Musa bin Ali and his father, they are both well known among the narrators of the sahih collections, and men like them would not be unknown to Hafiz Haythami.
