A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, I have a wife who does not refuse the hand of any man who touches her."He said, "Divorce her."The man said, "I love her, and she is beautiful."He said, "Then enjoy her."
أن رجلا أتى رسول الله ﷺ فقال: يا رسول الله إن لى امرأة وهى لا تدفع يد لامس قال: طلقها. قال: إنى أحبها وهي جميلة قال: فاستمتع بها.

Bayhaqi narrated it in Sunan al-Kubra (7/154-155) through several chains from Abu Zubayr, from Jabir bin Abdullah, and mentioned it. It has a corroborating narration from the hadith of Ibn Abbas, as previously mentioned. Its chain is hasan because of Abu Zubayr.His saying, "She does not repel the hand of a toucher," its meaning has been problematic for scholars. It was said that it means immorality, that she does not refuse anyone who seeks indecency from her, and this is what Abu Ubayd, Khallal, Nasai, Khattabi, Ghazali, Nawawi, and others said.If this meaning is correct, then how could the Prophet ﷺ command him to keep her? For this reason, Imam Ahmad and others held the meaning of extravagance, that she does not refuse anyone who asks her for some of her husband's wealth.But it was objected that generosity is recommended, so it could not be grounds for his saying, "Divorce her."It was also said that its meaning is that she does not refuse anyone who extends his hand to enjoy touching her, so her husband understood from her state that she would not refuse anyone who wanted indecency from her, not that this actually happened from her.Hafiz mentioned all these meanings in Talkhis.What I incline toward is that the man had a suspicion arise in his heart about her, while at the same time he was unable to part with her, so the Prophet ﷺ commanded him to stay with her and be patient with her, so that her condition might improve, unlike those who held the view of immorality.The Prophet's ﷺ saying, "Enjoy her," is an indication of increasing intercourse with her in order to break her desire, so that she would not offer herself to everyone who approached her.
