Abu Barza reported,

Julaybib was a man who used to enter upon women and joke around with them. So I said to my wife, "Do not let Julaybib enter upon you, for if he comes in I will surely do this and that to him."The Ansar, when one of them had an unmarried woman in his household, would not give her in marriage until he knew whether the Prophet ﷺ had any need of her or not. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to a man from the Ansar, "Marry your daughter to me."The man replied, "Yes, with honor, Messenger of Allah, and to the delight of my eye."The Prophet said, "I do not want her for myself."The man asked, "Then for whom, Messenger of Allah?"He said, "For Julaybib."The man said, "Messenger of Allah, let me consult her mother." He went to her mother and said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ is asking for your daughter's hand."She replied, "Yes, and to the delight of my eye."He said, "He is not asking for her for himself. He is asking for her for Julaybib."She said, "Julaybib? For him? Julaybib? For him? Julaybib? For him? No, by Allah, we will not marry her to him."When he was about to get up to go to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and inform him of what her mother had said, the young woman asked, "Who is it that has asked for my hand?" So her mother told her.She said, "Are you going to refuse the command of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ? Send me to him, for he will not let me go to waste."So her father went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and told him.He said, "She is in your charge." And so he gave her in marriage to Julaybib.

عن أبي برزة الأسلمي

أن جليبيبا كان امرا يدخل على النساء ويلاعبهن، فقلت لامرأتي: لا تدخلن عليكم جليبيبا، فإنه إن دخل عليكم لأفعلن ولأفعلن. قال: وكانت الأنصار إذا كان لأحدهم أيم، لم يزوجها حتى يعلم هل للنبي ﷺ فيها حاجة أم لا، فقال رسول الله ﷺ الرجل من الأنصار: زوجني ابنتك فقال: نعم وكرامة يا رسول الله، ونعم عيني. قال: إني لست أريدها لنفسي قال: فلمن يا رسول الله؟ قال: لجليبيب قال: فقال: يارسول الله، أشاور أمها. فأتى أمها، فقال: رسول الله ﷺ يخطب ابنتك. فقالت: نعم ونعمة عيني. فقال: إنه ليس يخطبها لنفسه، إنما يخطبها لجليبيب. فقالت: أجليبيب إنيه؟ أجليبيب إنيه؟ أجليبيب إنيه؟ لا لعمر الله لا نزوجه. فلما أراد أن يقوم ليأتي رسول الله ﷺ فيخبره بما قالت أمها، قالت الجارية: من خطبني إليكم؟ فأخبرتها أنها فقالت: أتردون على رسول الله ﷺ أمره، ادفعوني، فإنه لم يضيعني. فانطلق أبوها إلى رسول الله ﷺ فأخبره، فقال: شأنك بها. فزوجها جليبيبا.
