I was with the Prophet ﷺ when a man came and told him that he had married a woman from the Ansar. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked him, "Have you looked at her?"He replied, "No."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Then go and look at her, for there is something in the eyes of the Ansar."
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Marriage (1424:74), from Ibn Abu Umar, who said, "Sufyan narrated to us, from Yazid bin Kaysan, from Abu Hazim, from Abu Hurairah," and he related it.In Humaydi's narration, from Sufyan, "A man wanted to marry a woman from the Ansar," and he related the rest of the hadith. Tahawi narrated it in Sharh Maani al-Athar (14/3).His saying, "something in the eyes of the Ansar," it was said this refers to smallness, and it was also said it refers to blueness.
