The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, "Have you married, Jabir?"I replied, "Yes."At the end he said, "May Allah bless you," or he said, "May Allah grant you good."
قال لي رسول الله ﷺ: تزوجت يا جابر فقلت نعم، وفي آخره فقال: بارك الله لك أو قال: خيرا.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Expenditures (5367), and Muslim in the Book of Suckling (715:56), both of them through Hammad bin Zayd, from Amr bin Dinar, from Jabir, who mentioned it within a long account. In another version, "May Allah bless you." Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Supplications (6387) from Abu Numan, from Hammad bin Zayd with his chain.It appears that he said both phrases, and each narrator preserved one of them, since it is not possible for him to say this to him first and then say that to him in the same sitting.
