Ayesha reported,

There were three legal precedents established through Bareerah's case. One of these three was that when she was freed, she was given the choice regarding her husband. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Loyalty belongs to the one who frees the slave."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered while a pot was boiling with meat. Bread and condiments from the household provisions were brought to him.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "Did I not see meat in the pot?"They replied, "Yes, Messenger of Allah, but it is meat that was given as charity to Bareerah, and you do not eat from charity."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "For her it is charity, but for us it is a gift."

عن عائشة أنها قالت

كان في بريرة ثلاث سنن، فكانت إحدى السنن الثلاث أنها أعتقت فخيرت في زوجها. وقال رسول الله ﷺ الولاء لمن أعتقودخل رسول الله ﷺ والبرمة تفور بلحم فقرب إليه خبز وأدم من أدم البيت. فقال رسول الله ﷺ: ألم أر البرمة فيها لحم؟ فقالو: بلى يا رسول الله. ولكن لحم تصدق به على بريرة، وأنت لا تأكل الصدقة، فقال رسول الله ﷺ هو عليها صدقة، وهو لنا هدية.
