The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was the most generous of people, and he was at his most generous during Ramadan when Jibreel would meet with him. Jibreel used to meet him every night of Ramadan to review the Quran with him. When Jibreel met him, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was more generous in doing good than the unleashed wind.
Bukhari narrated it in the Beginning of Revelation (6), and Muslim in Virtues (2308), both of them by way of Zuhri, who said, "Ubaydullah bin Abdullah informed me, from Ibn Abbas," and he related the hadith, the wording being Bukhari's.
