Abdullah bin Abbas reported,

Saad bin Ubada, the brother of Banu Saida, was away when his mother died. He came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "Messenger of Allah, my mother has died while I was absent. Will anything benefit her if I give it in charity on her behalf?"He replied, "Yes."Saad said, "Then I call you to witness that my orchard, al-Mikhraf, is a charity on her behalf."
