I said, "Messenger of Allah, part of my repentance is that I divest myself of my wealth as charity to Allah and His Messenger ﷺ."He replied, "Hold on to some of your wealth, for that is better for you."I said, "Then I will hold on to my share at Khaybar."
قلت: يا رسول الله، إن من توبتي أن أنخلع من مالي صدقة إلى الله، وإلى رسوله ﷺ، فقال: أمسك عليك بعض مالك فهو خير لك. قلت: فإبني أمسك سهمي الذي بخيبر.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Wills (2757), from Yahya bin Bukayr, he said, Layth narrated to us, from Aqeel, from Ibn Shihab, who said, Abdul-Rahman bin Abdullah bin Kaab informed me that Abdullah bin Kaab said, I heard Kaab bin Malik say, and then he mentioned it.
