Hanzala bin Huzaym reported,

His grandfather Hanifa said to Hudhaym, "Gather my sons for me, for I wish to make a bequest."So he gathered them, and Hanifa said, "The first thing I bequeath is that this orphan in my care receive one hundred camels of the kind we used to call in the days of ignorance al-Mutayyabah."Hudhaym said, "Father, I have heard your sons saying, 'We only acknowledge this in our father's presence, but when he dies we will take it back.'"Hanifa said, "Then let the Messenger of Allah ﷺ judge between me and you."Hudhaym said, "We agree."So Hudhaym, Hanifa, and Hanzala set out together, along with a young boy who rode behind Hudhaym. When they came to the Prophet ﷺ, they greeted him with peace.The Prophet ﷺ asked, "What has brought you here, Abu Hudhaym?"He replied, striking his hand on Hudhaym's thigh, "This man here." Then Hanifa said, "I feared that old age or death might come upon me suddenly, so I wished to make a bequest. I declared that the first thing I bequeath is that this orphan in my care receive one hundred camels of the kind we used to call in the days of ignorance al-Mutayyabah."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ became angry, so much so that we saw the anger in his face. He had been sitting, but he rose up onto his knees and said, "No, no, no. The charitable gift is five, or else ten, or else fifteen, or else twenty, or else twenty-five, or else thirty, or else thirty-five, and if more, then forty."Then they bid him farewell. The orphan had a stick in his hand and was striking a camel with it.The Prophet ﷺ remarked, "How large this orphan's club has become."Hanzala said, "He brought me close to the Prophet ﷺ and said, 'I have grown sons with beards, and others younger than that, and this one is the youngest of them. Pray to Allah for him.'"So he wiped his head and said, "May Allah bless you," or, "May he be blessed."Dhayyal said, "I saw Hanzala, when a person with a swollen face was brought to him, or an animal with a swollen udder, he would spit on his hands and say, 'In the name of Allah,' then place his hand on its head, saying, 'Upon the place where the palm of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ rested,' and he would wipe over it." Dhayyal added, "And the swelling would go away."

عن حنظلة بن حذيم

أن جده حنيفة قال لحذيم: اجمع لي بني؛ فإني أريد أن أوصي. فجمعهم، فقال: إن أول ما أوصي أن ليتيمي هذا الذي في حجري مائة من الإبل التي كنا نسميها في الجاهلية: المطيبة. فقال حذيم: يا أبت، إني سمعت بنيك يقولون: إنما نقر بهذا عند أبينا، فإذا مات رجعنا فيه، قال: فبيني وبينكم رسول الله ﷺ. فقال حذيم: رضينا. فارتفع حذيم، وحنيفة، وحنظلة معهم غلام، وهو رديف لحذيم، فلما أتوا النبي ﷺ سلموا عليه، فقال النبي ﷺ: وما رفعك يا أبا حذيم؟ قال: هذا، وضرب بيده على فخذ حذيم. فقال: إني خشيت أن يفجأني الكبر أو الموت، فأردت أن أوصي، وإني قلت: إن أول ما أوصي أن ليتيمي هذا الذي في حجري مائة من الإبل، كنا نسميها في الجاهلية المطيبة، فغضب رسول الله ﷺ، حتى رأينا الغضب في وجهه، وكان قاعدا، فجثا على ركبتيه، وقال: لا، لا، لا، الصدقة خمس، وإلا فعشر، وإلا فخمس عشرة، وإلا فعشرون، وإلا فخمس وعشرون، وإلا فثلاثون، وإلا فخمس وثلاثون، فإن كثرت فأربعون. قال: فودعوه، ومع اليتيم عصا، وهو يضرب جملا، فقال النبي ﷺ: عظمت هذه هراوة يتيم. قال حنظلة: فدنا بي إلى النبي ﷺ، فقال: إن لي بنين ذوي لحى، ودون ذلك، وإن ذا أصغرهم، فادع الله له، فمسح رأسه، وقال: بارك الله فيك، أو بورك فيه. قال ذيال: فلقد رأيت حنظلة يؤتى بالإنسان الوارم وجهه، أو البهيمة الوارمة الضرع، فيتفل على يديه، ويقول: بسم الله، ويضع يده على رأسه، ويقول: على موضع كف رسول الله ﷺ، فيمسحه عليه، وقال ذيال: فيذهب الورم.
