Muaz bin Jabal ruled among us during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that half goes to the daughter and half to the sister.
قضى فينا معاذ بن جبل على عهد رسول الله ﷺ و النصف للابنة، والنصف للأخت.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Inheritance (6741), from Bishr bin Khalid, who said, Muhammad bin Jafar narrated to us, from Shuba, from Sulayman, from Ibrahim, from Aswad, and he mentioned the hadith. Then Sulayman said, "He gave a ruling among us," without mentioning "in the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."Aswad is Ibn Yazid, and Sulayman is Amash. He narrated the hadith first with the statement "in the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ" affirmed, making it marfu, and another time without it, making it mawquf. What indicates that it occurred in the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ will come later.
