The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ruled regarding one who is granted a lifetime gift for himself and his descendants that it belongs to him outright. The giver cannot impose any condition or exception upon it.
أن رسول الله ﷺ قضى فيمن أعمر عمرى له ولعقبه فهيي له بتلة، لا يجوز للمعطي فيها شرط ولا ثنيا.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Gifts (1625: 24), from Muhammad bin Rafi, from Ibn Abu Fudayk, from Ibn Abu Dhib, from Ibn Shihab, from Abu Salama bin Abdul-Rahman, from Jabir, and he related it.His saying, "batlah," means a gift that is final and does not revert back to the giver.
