The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Hold on to your property and do not give it away to anyone. Whoever is granted something for life, it belongs to him."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: أمسكوا عليكم أموالكم، ولا تعطوها أحدا، فمن أعمر شيئا فهو له.
Imam Ahmad (14126) narrated it from Abdul-Razzaq, from Sufyan, from Abu Zubayr, from Jabir, and he mentioned it. Muslim (1625:27) also narrated it, from the narration of Waki, from Sufyan, except that he limited it to his saying, "Hold on to your property." Likewise, Abdul-Razzaq (16876) also limited it to his saying, "Whoever is given a life-grant of something, it belongs to him."
