The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever is granted a lifetime gift for himself and his descendants, it belongs to the one to whom it was given and does not return to the giver, because he gave a gift in which the laws of inheritance now apply."
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: أيما رجل أعمر عمرى له ولعقبه فإنها للذي أعطيها لا ترجع إلى الذي أعطاه، لأنه أعطى عطاء وقعت فيه المواريث.
Malik reported it in Aqdiyah (45), from Ibn Shihab, from Abu Salama bin Abdul-Rahman, from Jabir, who narrated it. Muslim also reported it in Hibat (1625) through this same route.
