The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The one who takes back his gift is like a dog that vomits and then returns to its vomit."
عن رسول الله ﷺ قال: العائد في هبته كالكلب يقيئ، ثم يعود في قيئه.
Bukhari related it in the Book of Gifts (2589), and Muslim in the Book of Gifts (1622:8), both from the hadith of Wahib, who said, Abdullah bin Tawus narrated to us, from his father, from Ibn Abbas, and he mentioned it. In another version with Bukhari (2622), from a different route, from Ibn Abbas, "The one who takes back his gift is not like us. .."
