His father had given him a young slave. The Prophet ﷺ asked him, "What is this slave?"He replied, "My father gave him to me."The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Have you given each of his brothers the same as you have given this one?"He answered, "No."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Then return him."
أعطاه أبوه غلاما، فقال له النبي ﷺ: ما هذا الغلام؟ قال: أعطانيه أبي. قال: فكل إخوته أعطيته كما أعطيت هذا؟ قال: لا. قال: فرده
Muslim narrated it in the chapter on gifts (12:1623), from Qutayba bin Saeed, who said, Jareer narrated to us, from Hisham bin Urwa, from his father, who said, Numan bin Bashir narrated to us, saying, his father had given him a servant, and he mentioned the rest of it.
