The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed ablution and wiped over his leather socks.A man said in the presence of Mughira bin Shuba, "Mughira, where did the Prophet ﷺ get a pair of leather socks from?"Mughira replied, "Najashi gifted them to him."

Bayhaqi (1/283) narrated it from Abu Abdullah Hakim, from Abu Abbas Muhammad bin Yaqub, from Abbas bin Muhammad Duri, from Umar bin Hafs bin Ghiyath, from Abu Ishaq Shaybani, from Shaybi, from Mughira bin Shuba, and he mentioned it.This is an isnad that appears sahih on its face. Bayhaqi said, "Shaybi only narrated the hadith about wiping from Urwa bin Mughira, from his father."I say, the hadith of Mughira about wiping, without mention of the gift, is sahih and well known, and it has already been given in the chapter on wiping over the socks. The narration of Shaybi from Mughira is established, so it is possible that he first heard it through an intermediary, and then it later became easy for him to hear it directly from Mughira.
