The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The most hated of men to Allah is the obstinate adversary."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: إن أبغض الرجال إلى الله الألد الخصم.
Bukhari narrated it in the Chapter on Wrongdoing (2457), and Muslim narrated it in the Chapter on Knowledge (2668), both of them from Ibn Jurayj, from Ibn Abu Mulayka, from Ayesha, who related it as mentioned.His saying, "the fiercely contentious one," means one who is intensely quarrelsome, taken from the "ladidayy" of a valley, which are its two sides, because whenever an argument is raised against him, he shifts to another side.
