The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever wrongfully seizes a man's land will meet Allah while He is angry with him."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: من غصب رجلا أرضا ظلما، لقي الله وهو عليه غضبان.

Tabarani reported it in Al-Kabir (18/22) from Talib bin Qurra Adani, who said, "Muhammad bin Isa Tabba narrated to us," and also from Husayn bin Ishaq Tustari, who said, "Yahya Himani narrated to us." Both of them (Muhammad bin Isa Tabba and Yahya Himani) narrated from Abu Awana, from Abdul-Malik bin Umayr, from Alqama bin Waail, from his father, and he mentioned it.Its chain is hasan because of Abdul-Malik bin Umayr and his teacher Alqama bin Waail, for they make the hadith hasan. As for Haythami, he found fault with it in Al-Majma (4/176), saying, "Yahya bin Himani has been graded daif, though he has also been graded reliable, and much has been said about him." This is indeed so, but he has a corroborating narrator, for Muhammad bin Isa Tabba corroborated him, and he is a reliable and precise narrator. However, Haythami erred, for he attributed the hadith to Abdullah bin Masud, whereas Tabarani actually reported it within the musnad of Waail bin Hajar. The legal understanding of the hadith is that whoever usurps a handspan of land will be held accountable according to the nature of his offense. Some will be encircled by an equivalent amount of land, some will be made to carry its soil to the place of gathering, some will be made to answer for it by entering the fire, and some will be made to answer for it through Allah's wrath upon them. The Prophet ﷺ explained these different forms of recompense on different occasions.
