We were forbidden that a town-dweller should sell on behalf of a desert-dweller.

Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Sales (2161), and Muslim in the Book of Sales (1523:22), both from Muhammad bin Muthanna, who said, Muaz narrated to us, who said, Ibn Awn narrated to us, from Muhammad, who said, Anas bin Malik said, and then he mentioned it.Muslim also narrated it through another route, from Yunus, from Ibn Sirin, adding to it, "Even if it were his brother or his father."
