Abu Hurairah said to Marwan, "Have you permitted the sale of usury?"Marwan replied, "I have not done so."Abu Hurairah said, "You have permitted the sale of sukuk, yet the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the sale of food until it has been taken into full possession."Marwan then addressed the people and forbade their sale.Sulayman said, "I saw the guards taking them from the people's hands."
أنه قال لمروان: أحللت بيع الربا فقال مروان: ما فعلت. فقال أبو هريرة: أحللت بيع الصكاك، وقد نهي رسول الله ﷺ عن بيع الطعام حتى يستوفى. قال: فخطب مروان الناس، فنهي عن بيعها. قال سليمان: فنظرت إلى حرس يأخذونها من أيدي الناس.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Sales (1528) from Ishaq bin Ibrahim, Abdullah bin Harith Makhzumi informed us, Dahhak bin Uthman narrated to us, from Bukayr bin Abdullah Ashaj, from Sulayman bin Yasar, from Abu Hurairah, and he related it.In another wording of his, "Whoever buys food should not sell it until he has measured it out."
