I went on three military expeditions with the Prophet ﷺ, during which I heard him say, "The Muslims are partners in three things, pasture, water, and fire."
غزوت مع النبي ﷺ ثلاثا أسمعه يقول: المسلمون شركاء في ثلاث: في الكلا، والماء، والنار.
Abu Dawud (3477) narrated it through two routes, from Ali bin Jaad Luluy, who said, "Hurayz bin Uthman narrated to us, from Habban bin Zayd Shurabi, from a man from Qarn." And also, "Musaddad narrated to us, Isa bin Yunus narrated to us, Hurayz bin Uthman narrated to us, from Abu Khiddash, from a man among the emigrants from the companions of the Prophet ﷺ," who said, and then he related it.Its chain of transmission is sahih, and Abu Khiddash is Habban bin Zayd Shurabi. The hadith was also related by Imam Ahmad (23082) and Bayhaqi (6/150), both through the route of Thawr bin Yazid Shami, from Hurayz, with his chain of transmission, in similar wording.
