The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever keeps a dog, other than a hunting dog or a livestock dog, two qirats are deducted from his good deeds each day."
عن رسول الله ﷺ قال: من اقتنى كلبا إلا كلب ضار، أو ماشية، نقص من عمله كل يوم قيراطان.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Musaqah (1574:54), from Ishaq bin Ibrahim, who said, Waki informed us, who said, Hanzala bin Abu Sufyan narrated to us, from Salim, from his father, and he related it.He also narrated it through another route, from Ibn Abu Harmalah, from his father, who related the hadith. In it he said, Abdullah said, and Abu Hurairah said, "or a farm dog." "The trained dog" means a dog trained for hunting.
