Anas bin Malik reported,

When wine was forbidden, he said, "On that day I was serving drinks to them. I was pouring for eleven men. They ordered me to pour it out, so I emptied it, and the people emptied their vessels along with whatever was in them, until the streets nearly became impassable from its smell."Anas said, "Their wine on that day was nothing but unripe dates and ripe dates mixed together."He said, A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "I had money belonging to an orphan in my keeping, and I used it to buy wine. Will you permit me to sell it so I can return the orphan's money to him?"The Prophet ﷺ said, "May Allah destroy the Jews. The fats were forbidden to them, yet they sold them and consumed the proceeds."The Prophet ﷺ did not permit them to sell the wine.
