The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not buy fruits until their ripeness becomes apparent."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: لا تبتاعوا الثمار حتى يبدو صلاحها.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Sales (1538) from Abu Kurayb Muhammad bin Ala, who said, Muhammad bin Fudayl told us, from his father, from Ibn Abu Nam, from Abu Hurairah, and he mentioned it.He also narrated it through another route from Ibn Shihab, who said, Saeed bin Musayab and Abu Salama bin Abdul-Rahman told me, from Abu Hurairah, with an addition, "And do not sell fresh fruit for dried fruit."As for what has been reported from him in the wording, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade selling spoils of war before they are divided, forbade selling palm trees before they are protected from any calamity that might befall them, and forbade a man from praying without a waist wrap," this is daif.Abu Dawud narrated it (3369) from the hadith of Shuba, from Yazid bin Khumayr, from a freedman of Quraysh, from Abu Hurairah, and he mentioned it. Bayhaqi (2/240) also transmitted it through this same route in abridged form. It contains an unnamed man.
