Ibn Masud reported that the Prophet ﷺ said, "No one increases his wealth through usury except that his affair ends in scarcity."
عن النبي ﷺ قال: ما أحد أكثر من الربا إلا كان عاقبة أمره إلى قلة.
Ibn Majah reported it (2279), from Abbas bin Jafar, who said, Amr bin Awn narrated to us, Yahya bin Abu Zaida narrated to us, from Israil, from Rukayn bin Rabi bin Umayla, from his father, from Ibn Masud, and he mentioned it. Hakim declared it sahih (2/37), and reported it through another route from Amr bin Awn with the same wording. Israil is Ibn Yunus bin Abu Ishaq, who is trustworthy.Ahmad reported it (3754), and from him Hakim (2/37), and Abu Yaala (5042), and Tabarani in al-Kabir (10538), all of them through other routes from Sharik, from Rukayn bin Rabi with his chain, similarly. Sharik is Ibn Abdullah Nakhai, whose memory is poor, but he was corroborated in the first chain.
