I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever grants his debtor more time or cancels the debt for him will be under the shade of the Throne on the Day of Resurrection."
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول: من نفس عن غريمه أو محا عنه كان في ظل العرش يوم القيامة.
Ahmad (22559), Darimi (2631), and Baghawi in Sharh al-Sunnah (2143) all narrated it from the hadith of Affan bin Muslim, who said, Hammad bin Salama narrated to us, who said, Abu Jafar Khatami narrated to us, from Muhammad bin Kaab Qurazi, from Abu Qatada, and he related it. Its isnad is sahih.
