The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever grants a debtor in hardship more time, or forgives part of his debt, Allah will shade him under the shade of His Throne on the Day of Resurrection."
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: من أنظر معسرا أو وضع له أظله الله في ظل عرشه يوم القيامة.
Tirmidhi (1306) and Ahmad (8711) both narrated it from the hadith of Ishaq bin Sulayman Razi, who said, "Dawud bin Qays narrated to us, from Zayd bin Aslam, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurairah," and he mentioned it. Its chain of transmission is sahih. Tirmidhi said, "A hasan sahih hadith, gharib by this route."I say, it has another route, narrated by Baghawi in Sharh al-Sunnah (2141) through Abu Jafar Razi, who said, "Humayd bin Zanjuwayh narrated to us, Yaala narrated to us, Yahya bin Ubaydullah narrated to us, from his father, from Abu Hurairah," and he mentioned it.
