A man came to the Prophet ﷺ seeking repayment of half a wasq he had lent him. The Prophet ﷺ gave him a full wasq and said, "Half a wasq is what I owe you, and the other half is from me as a gift."Then the man who had lent him a full wasq came to seek its repayment, and he gave him two wasqs. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "One wasq is what I owe you, and the other is from me."
أتى النبي ﷺ رجل يتقاضاه قد استسلف منه شطر وسق. فأعطاه وسقا. فقال: نصف وسق لك، ونصف وسق لك من عندي. ثم جاء صاحب الوسق يتقاضاه فأعطاه وسقين، فقال رسول الله ﷺ: وسق لك، ووسق من عندي.

Bazzar narrated it in Kashf Astar (1306) from Muhammad bin Abu Ghalib, who said, our teacher Abu Salih Farraa told us, our teacher Abdullah bin Mubarak told us, from Hamza Zayyat, from Habib bin Abu Thabit, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurairah, and he related it.Haythami said in Majma al-Zawaid (4/141), "It contains Abu Salih Farraa, whom I do not know, and the rest of its narrators are the narrators of the sahih." This is what he said, but Abu Salih Farraa's name is Mahbub bin Musa, as is explicitly stated in Bayhaqi's narration (5/351).This Mahbub bin Musa, Abu Salih Farraa, is a subject of disagreement. Abu Dawud deemed him trustworthy, and Ajli said, "He is trustworthy, a man of sunnah." Ibn Hibban listed him among the trustworthy narrators, while Daraqutni said, "He is not strong." The conclusion regarding him is that his hadith is hasan, and there is nothing in this hadith of his that would be rejected. Munziri also graded it hasan in Targhib wa Tarhib (2728).Ibn Hajar also took issue with Haythami, saying, "He is Mahbub bin Musa, trustworthy and righteous," Mukhtasar Zawaid Bazzar (923).
