Abdullah bin Umar reported,

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever's intercession stands in the way of one of the prescribed punishments of Allah عز وجل has opposed Allah in His command. Whoever dies owing a debt will not repay it with Dinars or dirhams, but with good deeds and bad deeds. Whoever disputes on behalf of falsehood, knowing it to be false, remains under the wrath of Allah until he desists. And whoever says about a believer what is not true of him, Allah will make him dwell in the mire of foul pus until he retracts what he said."
