The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade muzabanah and muhaqalah. Muzabanah is the purchase of fresh dates while still on the palm tree in exchange for dried dates, and muhaqalah is Kira Ard in exchange for wheat.
أن رسول الله ﷺ نهي عن المزابنة، والمحاقلة والمزابنة اشتراء الثمر بالتمر في رؤوس النخل. والمحاقلة كراء الأرض بالحنطة.
Malik narrated it in al-Buyu (24) from Dawud bin Husayn, from Abu Sufyan the freedman of Ibn Abu Ahmad, from Abu Saeed Khudri, and he related it.Bukhari narrated it in al-Buyu (2186), and Muslim in al-Buyu (1546), both of them through the route of Malik with the same wording, except that Bukhari did not mention the tafsir of muhaqalah. As for Muslim, he explained it as the leasing of land, and he did not say "for wheat."
