The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever owns land should cultivate it or give it to his brother to cultivate. If he refuses, let him keep his land."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: من كانت له أرض فليزرعها، أو ليمنحها أخاه، فإن أبي فليمسك أرضه.
Bukhari narrated it in "Farming and Sharecropping" (2341), and Muslim in "Sales" (1544), both through Abu Tuba Rabi bin Nafi, who said, "Muawiya narrated to us, from Yahya bin Abu Kathir, from Abu Salama bin Abdul-Rahman, from Abu Hurairah," and he mentioned it.
