The Prophet ﷺ entered a garden belonging to Umm Mabad and asked, "Umm Mabad, who planted these palm trees? Was it a Muslim or a disbeliever?"She replied, "A Muslim."He said, "No Muslim plants a tree from which a person, an animal, or a bird eats without it being counted as charity for him until the Day of Resurrection."
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Sharecropping (1552:10) from Ahmad bin Saeed bin Ibrahim, who said, Rawh bin Ubada told us, Zakariya bin Ishaq told us, Amr bin Dinar informed me that he heard Jabir bin Abdullah say what has been mentioned. This Umm Mabad may be the same as Umm Mubashir, who had two titles, or she may be the daughter of Abdullah bin Amr bin Hizam al-Ansari, the sister of Jabir bin Abdullah, with the story being repeated for both of them.
