Yaala bin Umaya reported,

I went out with the Prophet ﷺ on the expedition of hardship, and it was among the deeds I trusted most in myself. I had a hired worker with me who got into a fight with another man. One of them bit the other's finger, and the other pulled his finger out, knocking out the biter's front tooth, which fell to the ground. The man went to the Prophet ﷺ, but he disregarded the loss of his tooth and said, "Should he leave his finger in your mouth for you to chew on" — I think he said — "the way a stallion chews?"
