Jabir reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever buys a slave who owns property, the property belongs to the seller and any debt remains his responsibility, unless the buyer stipulates otherwise. And whoever pollinates date palms and then sells them after pollination, the fruit belongs to the seller, unless the buyer stipulates otherwise."
وجابر أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: من ابتاع عبدا وله مال فله ماله، وعليه دينه إلا أن يشترط المبتاع، ومن أبر نخلا فباعه بعد تأبيره فله ثمره إلا أن يشترط المبتاع.
Ibn Hibban (9424) and Bayhaqi (5/325-326) both narrated it from the hadith of Sulayman bin Musa, from Nafi, from Ibn Umar, and Ataa, from Jabir. He then mentioned it. Its isnad is hasan because of Sulayman bin Musa, who is al-Ashdaq, for he is hasan al-hadith.Abu Dawud (3435) and Bayhaqi narrated it with two isnads from someone who heard Jabir, from Jabir. He then mentioned it. It contains an unnamed man, who might be Ataa, or might be Abu Zubayr, as in the narration of Ibn Abu Shayba (7/113).
