The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The two parties in a sale transaction retain the right to cancel as long as they have not parted, unless it was a deal made with the option of choice. It is not permissible for one of them to leave his companion out of fear that he might ask to revoke the deal."
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: المتبايعان بالخيار ما لم يتفرقا إلا أن تكون صفقة خيار، ولا يحل له أن يفارق صاحبه خشية أن يستقيله.
Abu Dawud (3456), Tirmidhi (1247), Nasai (4482), and Ahmad (6721) all narrated it through various routes from Ibn Ajlan, from Amr bin Shuayb, from his father, from Abdullah bin Amr bin As, who related it.Its chain is hasan because of Amr bin Shuayb, for his hadith is hasan. Tirmidhi said, this is a hasan hadith. This also serves as further evidence for those who hold that separation here refers to physical separation.
