Abdullah bin Abbas reported,
When the Prophet ﷺ arrived in Madinah, the people there were among the worst in their measuring. Then Allah 
revealed "Woe to those who give short measure" [Mutaffifin 83:1], and after that they began to measure honestly.

Hasanعن ابن عباس قال
لما قدم النبي ﷺ المدينة كانوا من أخبث الناس كيلا، فأنزل الله سبحانه وتعالى {ويل للمطففين} فأحسنوا الكيل بعد ذلك.

Zia-ur-Rahman Azami
Ibn Majah (2223), Ibn Hibban (4919), Hakim (2/33), and Bayhaqi (6/32) all narrated it through the route of Ali bin Husayn bin Waqid, who said, "My father narrated to us, from Yazid Nahwi, from Ikrima, from Ibn Abbas," and he related it.I say, Ali bin Husayn bin Waqid is disputed, though his hadith is hasan. Busiri also graded it hasan in Zawaid bin Majah.
