Reported by Ahmad (2233), Tabarani in al-Saghir (1169), Qudai in Musnad Shihab (648), and Bayhaqi in Shuab al-Iman (11258), all from the hadith of Walid bin Muslim, who said, "Ibn Jurayj narrated to us, Ataa narrated to us, from Ibn Abbas," and he mentioned it. Its chain of transmission is sahih. On this subject there is also what was reported from Uthman, that he bought a piece of land from a man, and the man delayed in delivering it to him. Uthman met him and said, "What kept you from taking possession of your money?" The man said, "You cheated me, and there is no one I meet but blames me for it." Uthman said, "Is that what is stopping you?" The man said, "Yes." Uthman said, "Then choose between your land and your money." Then he said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Allah will admit to Paradise a man who was easygoing as a buyer, a seller, in giving judgment, and in demanding his due.'"This was reported by Ibn Majah (2202), Nasai (4696), and Ahmad (410), all from the hadith of Ismail bin Ulaya, from Yunus bin Ubayd, from Ataa bin Faruq, who said, "Uthman said," and he mentioned it. Ataa bin Faruq was not deemed reliable by anyone except Ibn Hibban (5/204), which is why the Hafiz said in al-Taqrib, "Acceptable," meaning when corroborated, and I have found no one who corroborated him. There is also another defect in it, namely a break in the chain, for Ataa bin Faruq never met Uthman, as Ibn Madini stated in his book al-Ilal, and it was on this basis that Busiri identified the defect in Misbah Zujaja. On this subject there is also a report from Abu Hurairah, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah loves one who is easygoing in selling, easygoing in buying, and easygoing in giving judgment."This was reported by Tirmidhi (1319) from Abu Kurayb, who said, "Ishaq bin Sulayman Razi narrated to us, from Mughira bin Muslim, from Yunus, from Hasan, from Abu Hurairah," and he mentioned it. The critical scholars have affirmed that Hasan never heard anything directly from Abu Hurairah, and that he was a mudallis, and here he used the ambiguous form "an" in transmitting. Tirmidhi said, "This is a gharib hadith," meaning daif. He also said, "Some of them reported this hadith from Yunus, from Saeed Maqburi, from Abu Hurairah." End of quote. Bukhari judged this to be a mistake, as stated in Ilal al-Kabir (1/530–531).
