The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed Umrah twice in the month of Dhul-Qadah before he performed Hajj.
اعتمر رسول الله ﷺ في ذي القعدة قبل أن يحج مرتين.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Umrah (1781) via the route of Ibrahim bin Yusuf, from his father (he is Yusuf bin Ishaq bin Abu Ishaq Sabi), from Abu Ishaq, who said, "I asked Masruq, Ataa, and Mujahid, and they said, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed Umrah in Dhul-Qaidah before he performed Hajj.'" He said, "I heard Bara bin Azib say" (then he mentioned it).As for his statement, "twice," he meant by it the independent, standalone Umrah, and there truly were two of them, the Umrah of Qadaa, and his Umrah from Jirana.
