The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded me to take charge of his sacrificial camels, to distribute their meat, hides, and saddle-blankets in charity, and not to give the butcher any portion of them as payment. He said, "We will pay him from our own resources."
أمرني رسول الله ﷺ أن أقوم على بدنة، وأن أتصدق بلحمها وجلودها وأجلتها، وأن لا أعطى الجزار منها. قال: نحن نعطيه من عندنا.
Bukhari related it in the Book of Hajj (1716), and Muslim in the Book of Hajj (1317:348), both of them through the route of Abdul-Kareem Jazari, from Mujahid, from Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Layla, from Ali, who narrated it. The wording given is that of Muslim. Bukhari's wording is similar, but he does not have "We will give it to him from what we have."
