The Prophet of Allah ﷺ saw a man driving a sacrificial camel and said, "Ride it."The man replied, "It is a sacrificial camel."The Prophet ﷺ said again, "Ride it."The narrator said, I saw him riding it alongside the Prophet ﷺ, with the sandal still hanging around its neck.
أن نبي الله ﷺ رأى رجلا يسوق بدنة، قال: اركبها. قال: إنها بدنة. قال: اركبها. قال: فلقد رأيته راكبها يساير النبي ﷺ والنعل في عنقها.
Bukhari related it in Hajj (1706), by way of Mamar, from Yahya bin Abu Kathir, from Ikrima, from Abu Hurairah, and he narrated it.Muslim also related it in Hajj (1322), by way of Araj and Hammam bin Munabbih, separately, both of them from Abu Hurairah, with similar wording, but without mention of the sandal.
